County Elections 2005

The County elections were held on 5 May 2005.

The Liberal Democrats won 17 of the 74 seats, one less than in 2001. However, the Conservatives won an overall majority - the first time there has not been a shared administration for 20 years. The Liberal Democrats now form the official Opposition.
